What is the VASER® 4D Hi-Def technique?
VASER® 4D Hi-Def is a highly advanced liposculpture technique designed for men and women who, despite maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly, are unable to achieve a well-defined athletic physique. Genetic factors related to body shape and localized fat deposits often play a role. The VASER® 4D Hi-Def technique was developed by the renowned Colombian plastic surgeon Alfredo Hoyos and requires specialized certification for safe application. Only a limited number of surgeons worldwide hold this certification, which is awarded after intensive training and examination.
How is VASER® 4D Hi-Def performed?
VASER® 4D Hi-Def sculpts the body by safely removing fat while enhancing muscle definition and promoting significant skin tightening.
In addition, the surgeon processes the harvested fat and selectively reinjects it into specific areas to enhance natural curves or emphasize certain muscle groups, creating a truly sculpted, athletic appearance in both men and women.

VASER® technology uses ultrasound energy — rather than thermal energy — to break down fat. This energy creates tiny bubbles within the tumescent fluid that has been previously injected, gently separating intact fat cells from surrounding tissues, much like shaking grapes off a bunch.
This results in less tissue trauma, while preserving the fat cells so they can be reused for fat grafting in areas where enhancement is desired.
What should I expect after surgery?
Recovery from this procedure is slightly longer compared to traditional liposuction. Small drainage tubes are usually placed for 24 hours — in the abdomen for men and in the back for women.
Patients must wear a specialized compression garment consisting of two parts for at least two months. Lymphatic drainage massage sessions are also recommended to accelerate the reduction of swelling and enhance the final result.
When can I return to normal activities?
Recovery time is somewhat longer than with conventional liposuction. Most patients can resume light activities within 5–7 days. Office work is usually possible within 7–10 days, while more physically demanding work may require 10–14 days.
Exercise is typically recommended after one month, and full return to all activities is expected after 1 1/2 month.
How long do the results last?
The results of VASER® 4D Hi-Def liposculpture are essentially permanent, provided that body weight remains relatively stable.
