Breast asymmetry
The breast is a key feature of the female body, and its size is genetically determined. Many women have a slight asymmetry between their breasts, which is usually not easily noticeable. In some cases, however, the difference in size and shape is quite pronounced, causing aesthetic concerns and psychological distress. Plastic surgery can effectively correct breast asymmetry, aiming to achieve a symmetrical appearance of both breasts with impressive results. The procedure may involve augmentation of both breasts with implants of different sizes, reduction of both breasts to different extents, augmentation of only one breast, reduction of only one breast, or a combination of enlarging one breast and reducing the other.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural structural component of the human body and is identical across all tissue types and organisms. It attracts water, hydrating the skin and adding volume. Over time, the body’s natural production of hyaluronic acid decreases, and the skin gradually loses firmness and radiance.
How does it work?
Hyaluronic acid is a moldable gel used to naturally fill wrinkles or restore lost facial volume. After injection, the hyaluronic acid particles are slowly absorbed by the body. As the gel gradually breaks down, it is replaced by water. As the concentration of the gel decreases, water retention increases, allowing the treated area to maintain its volume until the product is fully absorbed — without leaving any residue.
How safe is it?
Hyaluronic acid has been safely used in orthopedics for many years. The injectable form used for wrinkle treatment is biosynthetically produced and not derived from animal sources, eliminating the risk of disease transmission. Because injectable hyaluronic acid is identical to the body’s natural hyaluronic acid, allergic reactions are extremely rare, and no prior sensitivity testing is required.
Which areas can be treated?
Hyaluronic acid is available in different densities, making it suitable for all types of wrinkles. It is used to correct fine superficial lines around the eyes and mouth, deeper nasolabial folds and smile lines, wrinkles at the corners of the mouth, to enhance lip contour, for forehead and glabellar lines, as well as for facial contouring (cheeks, cheekbones, etc.).
How is the treatment performed?
The injection is performed using a topical anesthetic cream or local anesthesia. The procedure lasts about 30 minutes, and results are immediate. You can return to your normal activities right away.
Mild redness or irritation may appear at the injection site immediately after treatment due to the needle, but this usually subsides within 24–48 hours and can be easily covered with makeup. In the case of lip treatment, swelling may last slightly longer.
How long do the results last?
As mentioned, hyaluronic acid is biodegradable and gradually disappears without leaving residue. Results typically last between 9–12 months. The duration depends on several factors such as age, skin type, lifestyle, and muscle activity. In most cases, treatment is repeated after approximately 12 months to maintain the result.
