Dark Circles

The eyes are the most central element of the face and contribute significantly to its expression. The appearance of dark circles under the eyes gives the face a tired and worn-out look, as if you haven’t slept for days.

What are dark circles?
So-called dark circles actually describe three different conditions that may appear individually or coexist in the same person.
In some people, the skin around the eyes may be darker due to increased melanin deposition, caused by genetic predisposition, chronic skin irritation, or eczema.
In others, the skin of the lower eyelids is extremely thin, making the underlying blood vessels visible and giving the area a darker, shadow-like color. A similar issue occurs in cases of allergies, where veins dilate and become more visible. The most common cause, however, is volume loss under the eyes at the transition point between the lower eyelid and the cheek—where tears flow (hence the name tear trough). The formation of this hollow creates a shadow, making the area appear darker and accentuating any under-eye bags.

How can dark circles be treated?
In the first case, a gentle peeling treatment may help lighten the area, as well as daily use of a mild fruit-acid cream.
In the second case, special creams used daily can improve vessel tone and reduce the appearance of darkness.
In the third case, treatment involves injecting a small amount of hyaluronic acid to fill the hollow beneath the lower eyelid.

How is dark circle treatment with hyaluronic acid performed?
The treatment is carried out by injecting a specially formulated hyaluronic acid designed for this delicate area. The procedure is completely painless and lasts about 15–20 minutes.

How many treatments are needed?
The result is usually immediate even after a single treatment. In some cases, a second session may be required after one month to refine the result.

How long do the results last?
The effect of the treatment typically lasts 9–12 months.

When can I resume my normal activities?
Return to daily activities is immediate; however, it is recommended to avoid exercise on the day of treatment to prevent swelling in the area.
