What is VASER®?
VASER® Lipo, also known as Liposelection, is an advanced liposuction technique that selectively removes unwanted fat. It utilizes state-of-the-art ultrasound technology, making it a gentler and more effective method compared to conventional liposuction, designed to sculpt the body. What makes VASER® Lipo unique is its ability to separate fat from other structures such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. The innovative ultrasound technology liquefies fat while preserving surrounding tissues. At the same time, it promotes skin tightening, helping prevent sagging and providing excellent aesthetic results with faster healing.

How is VASER® Lipo performed?
VASER® Lipo can be performed under local anesthesia, sedation, epidural anesthesia, or general anesthesia. Together, we will decide what is best for you based on your needs and preferences.
During the procedure, a special saline solution is first infused into the treated areas to numb the tissue and constrict blood vessels, minimizing bleeding and bruising.
Next, a small titanium probe that emits ultrasound waves (similar to the one used in cataract surgery) is inserted to liquefy the fat while leaving other tissues intact.
Finally, the liquefied fat is gently removed using low-pressure suction designed to minimize trauma to surrounding tissues.
As mentioned, VASER® technology also promotes skin contraction, preventing laxity and supporting faster recovery.

What should I expect after surgery?
The procedure takes slightly longer than conventional liposuction due to the additional step of fat liquefaction. In most cases, hospitalization is not required, and you can return home the same day.
Immediately after surgery, a special compression garment is applied to reduce swelling and enhance the final contour. It is recommended to wear this garment continuously for one month (except when showering).
Postoperative discomfort is usually mild and easily managed with pain relievers such as paracetamol or codeine-based medications (aspirin should be avoided as it may cause bleeding). Bruising may last 2–3 weeks, and swelling typically subsides within 4–6 weeks.

When can I return to normal activities?
Recovery time depends on the extent of treatment. Most patients can resume light activities within 2–3 days. Desk work is usually possible within 2–3 days, while more physically demanding work may require 5–7 days. Exercise is generally recommended after 3–4 weeks, and full return to normal activities is expected after about one month.

How long do the results last?
The results of liposuction are essentially permanent. After adolescence, the body does not create new fat cells. Even with moderate weight gain (within reasonable limits, such as less than 20–30% of body weight), fat tends to distribute evenly rather than accumulating in the treated areas as before.
